1950 was a banner year for Halloween festivities in Anaheim. The Chamber of Commerce went all out in promoting not only the Miss Slick contest (originally established in 1947) but also candidates for the “Festival Queen”.
The Queen candidates were clad in matching dresses and were prominent at the opening of the festival.
Queen candidates were sponsored by different entities. Our own JoAn Burdick was the candidate selected by the Lion’s Club.
Various newspapers were happy to cover the fun…here proclaming them “Top Notchers All”!
